RANKING TAYLOR SWIFT'S FOLKLORE ALBUM TRACKLIST FROM MOST TO LEAST FAVORITE

I was browsing my phone last night after a long day of editing my blog site (follow me) when I saw Taylor Swift's announcement on Youtube that says she will be releasing her 8th album named "Folklore". And I was surprised knowing that Taylor saved our quarantine days. It was like the last minute of the day when she made a big announcement to her fans. How come she wrote all these songs during quarantine? It was exactly eleven months after her seventh studio album, Lover (2019). So today let's rank her songs, from Most to Least Favorite.

“The 1”

Number 1 on my list. It's "the 1" because we can all relate. The lyrics are so intense. It's like a great love story that almost happened but never succeded. The lyrics say "I persist and resist the temptation to ask you. If one thing had been different Would everything be different today?" It feels like there are words left unsaid, regrets that are still void today. Do you have a crush back then that you wish is "the 1"? then add this up on your playlist.

“Cardigan”

Second, on my list is "Cardigan". This is the first music video from her album and despite the quarantine protocols, she did great. The most amazing scene in the video is her swimming in the sea with the piano. Like how did you do that girl? The rest of the lyrics has pure innocence. From quotable quotes like "A friend to all is a friend to none," it makes me puzzled because she has a point. I searched it on google and it was a quote originally from Aristotle. It means If everyone is your friend to the same degree, then friendship isn't something unique. Do you have a friend like this in your life? Know where you stand :)

“The Last Great American Dynasty”

Here comes the third on my list which is "the last great American dynasty". It's like being reckless and just having fun. From the lyrics, I can see a powerful woman here who can ruin everything. How powerful am I talking about? the lyrics say "And in a feud with her neighbor she stole his dog and dyed it key lime green" like I can't even do that in real life! Probably I'll run instead of calming the dog to make it green.

“Illicit Affairs”

"Illicit Affairs" ranked number 4 on the list. The lyrics are so beautiful that makes you realize that everything beautiful comes to an end. From her previous lyrics from an old song that says "this is the last time I ever call you, babe" to "don't call me baby" in this video, Taylor Swift really leveled up.

“Invisible String”

Have you ever heard the story of the Red String? Well, that is the first thing that came in my mind when I listened to "invisible string". The lyrics from this song and the story of the red string is the same. That wherever you go, no matter how far you wander, you will always meet the person destined for you because both of you are tied up in the invisible string. Sounds cute right? Listen to the song to feel all the feels.

“My Tears Ricochet”

What I like about this song is the genuine love that it offers. You can feel it in the lyrics. I can say that Taylor's songwriting has really improved from all the songs that she made. Credits also to her songwriting partners named Bon Iver, The National’s Aaron Dessner, and longtime collaborator Jack Antonoff, whom she calls “basically musical family at this point.” They are the best collaborators. Kudos :)

“Exile (Feat. Bon Iver)”

This song is super lit. Both of the voices here are saying like who is to blame here? because they are talking about warning signs. It's a very deep message which shows that communication is really a must for any relationship to succeed unless you want to be in exile. :)

“Mirrorball”

I love the lyrics. Very simple yet touchy. Self-love at it's finest! Who wants to be a mirror ball? I can see Taylor here shining bright like a mirror ball for all of us even if the end is near. This song is perfect to be played when you're having some past time.

“This Is Me Trying”

Here comes the 9th in the List. "this is me trying" is kinda fighting for a love to last. Trying to be okay even if you're not. Trying to be strong even if you're not. Trying to be brave even if you're not. This song is a masterpiece itself!

“Seven”

Simple lyrics and very entertaining. the song "seven" is more like an aesthetic song. Finding someone to support you like damn! isn't it romantic? Find out more by listening to the music:)

“August”

"August" ranks 11. You can feel the summer love here that was never yours in the first place. Tragic yet beautiful. As the lyrics say "August sipped like a bottle of wine cause you were never mine" Sounds like a one-sided love! Pretty ouch. No one deserves a one-sided love! But still, Taylor delivered the message of the song in a perfect way. Kudos.

“Epiphany”

"Epiphany" this song makes you want to reminisce about all the memories in the past. It's a kind of chill music. I don't know how this song affects you but it's super amazing how Taylor can produce a song like this. If you feel sad or depressed, I recommend listening on this song :)

“Mad Woman”

I can feel the bitterness in this song. From "madwoman" I was like hey you need to calm down. Scorpio sting was mentioned in the lyrics and f.y.i. a Scorpio sting is deadly! You can use it as a weapon for your enemy and this song is for everyone who got betrayed or hurt. I ranked it as 13th because with all the sh*t happening in the world right now, I'd rather ignore it because life is short. This is perfect for anyone who can forgive but doesn't forget :)

“The Lakes” (Bonus Track)

This song is a happy song that you can dance with. My heart is aching if this should be in the 11th rank but I put it here because it's pretty simple for me. Any thoughts? Comment down below!

“Betty”

Betty who? Who is Betty? I like the background which represents Autumn but the lyrics are kinda gay for me. If this is based on Taylor's perspective that she loved Betty at the age of 17, holy sh*t. But is this really based on Taylor's perspective or James who is mentioned in the lyrics? Fans are saying that Taylor and James are the same people. Comment down below!

“Hoax”

While I was listening to this song, seriously I can fall asleep from this. Her voice is so calm that I just listen 2 times in my bed I began to snore. What are your thoughts about this?

“Peace”

The first time I listened to this song, the introduction is kinda long. But when I dived deep in the lyrics I just laughed. It says "Robbers to the East, Clowns to the West" with a capital W. Like Kanye West? It's in the last rank because you know the feud between them.
